The Next Level Homeschool language arts department provides an array of academically rigorous classes that will help your student improve their skills in reading, writing, researching, debating, and critical thinking. We offer various classes that focus on English grammar, literature, creative writing, and even rhetoric and composition for students ages 7-17. If you are looking for language arts classes that will challenge and ignite your student’s imagination, these are the classes for you! Getting students excited about reading and writing is my goal! We do not give out sample lessons. However, we do offer a $5 Correspondence class and a $5 Plagiarism class that will introduce you to how the Next Level Homeschool language arts program works so you can decide if it's a good fit for your child's learning style.
There is no required order to the full year English Grammar classes. They are built to be standalone, and students can take them in any order they choose.
However, for beginners to English Grammar, I do recommend taking the classes in the series in order. I also recommend students have a foundational understanding of the parts of speech before taking the "Sentences" class.
There is no set order to the full year Shakespeare in Pop Culture Series classes. They are built to be standalone, and students can take them in any order they choose.
However, it is strongly recommended that students take the Introductory class before taking any of the other classes in the series.
All literature classes are designed to be stand alone and can be taken in any order.
Classes in the Youth and Classic Literature series each focus on one novel or novella, and they are designed with comprehensive literary curriculum.
If your student is not a big fan of reading, I highly recommend trying out any of my one-lesson short story classes. The shorter format is sure to get any kid excited about the wonderful world of literature!

I always offer students many different kinds of assignment options in my literature classes that allow them to complete their work using their best skills and interests, so that they can have a learning experience to fit their learning style.
I offer more technical writing assignments, such as research and analytical essay writing, but I also offer many kinds of creative assignments for the more visually expressive learners.

Generally, I try to provide an objective view of literature, especially allegorical and historical topics. Literature has a tenancy to comment on and question the world around us, and I strive to teach students the importance of understanding social, cultural, and historical contexts to the stories they read.
