A Guide to Effective Note Taking$5
About this course
Curious if the format of Next Level Homeschool classes will match your child’s learning style? This is a good class to take! A one week, self paced, in depth class on how to take effective notes – for only $5!
Description: This is a one-week class run by Next Level’s history teacher, Dylan Monshaugen.
Does your student struggle with taking notes during lectures or when they are reading? Maybe they simply need a refresher on formatting notes and crafting strong outlines. Whatever the reason, A Guide to Effective Note Taking provides students with a one-week opportunity to brush up on their note taking skills. The class covers different styles of note taking, the basics on what type of information to include and how to find it, and the most efficient ways to remember important information. By the end of this week long class, students will have a better understanding of the importance of taking good notes and the methods in which to do so.
The lesson consists of a fully narrated powerpoint with embedded images and videos to enhance the topics. Students will have access to our learning management system, Canvas, for viewing their lesson plan and taking their quiz. Expect 1-2 hours to complete the course.
Recommended Ages: This class is ideal for students ages 10-17. Younger academically gifted students will be accepted.
Start Date: June 7. Course consists of 1 lesson plan. No live classes — view the lessons on YOUR schedule. We send out class access instructions every Tuesday for all enrollments received on or before that Monday. You will have until August 23 to complete the course. This gives you complete freedom during the summer to do the work!
