Science…there’s a method to the madness!! And in this Scientific Method class, we will explore that method, step by step! We’ll start by asking a question, and then learn how to do research and formulate a strong hypothesis. After that, we’ll move into everyone’s favorite part of the scientific method…experimentation! We’ll be conducting an easy experiment with common household items. From there, we will learn how to record our observations, analyze them, and make a conclusion. Students will also learn about acids, bases, and pH as we work through our experiment. At the end of the class, there is a quiz students can take.
If students want to take it to the “Next Level”, we encourage them to design and submit their own experiment using the methods we just learned!
The lesson consists of a fully narrated powerpoint with embedding images and videos to enhance the topics. Students will have access to our learning management system, Canvas, for viewing their lesson plan, printing their worksheet, taking their quiz, and getting ideas on how to put the scientific method to the test on their own! Expect 2.5-4 hours to complete the course.
